Tiithluup Advisory Services founding partners, Crystal Jack and John Jack, have worked along side one another, and independently, for First Nations governments and organizations in British Columbia since 2008 and 2004 respectively. Together they have over 30 years combined experience in the areas of:

Who We Are

Our Story

Crystal and John both grew up in the Parksville/Qualicum area, on the traditional territories of the Snaw-naw-as and Qualicum First Nations. They met while attending Vancouver Island University and were married in 2013. The couple continues to live in the Parksville area with their 3 young children.

As careers developed on parallel paths, with many of the same employers and similar areas of responsibility, a clear set of compatible skills and areas of expertise began to emerge. The birth of their third child and the office closures in 2020 changed the way they engaged in their work, allowing more accessibility and increased flexibility to pursue professional areas of interest. The idea of Tiithluup Advisory Services was conceived in 2021 and launched in 2022.

Tiiłuup are adaptive, responsive, intelligent, problem solvers who thrive in the Pacific northwest. Tiiłuup became the inspiration for our vision of being a leading resource and network of Indigenous consultants in British Columbia and beyond.

Our Team

Founding Partner

Crystal Jack

Crystal's professional experience has been focused on the development and implementation of the Maa-nulth Treaty, as well as government to government relationships between First Nations and provincial and federal governments. Additional areas of expertise include policy development, data governance, indicator development and analysis, research, community engagements, workshops, facilitation, major project relations, fisheries and resources rights, and jurisdiction and law development under An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit, and Metis, Children, Youth, and Families. She also works independently under Crystal Jack Consulting and has been working in Treaty Implementation and related fields since 2008.

Crystal grew up in Qualicum Bay and Qualicum Beach, and has a BA in Anthropology from Vancouver Island University.

Founding Partner

John Jack

John's career with Huu-ay-aht began in 2005 in treaty support and communications, and in 2009 he was elected to Council for the first time. He has served on each consecutive council since, and has held nearly every portfolio, including Finance, Economic Development, Law and Policy, Treaty Implementation, Major Projects, External and Intergovernmental Relationships, and Alberni-Clayquot Regional District representative (where he was elected Chair in 2018). In 2023 he was elected Chief Councillor of Huu-ay-aht First Nations.

John also shares his expansive experience and expertise as keynote speaker, panelist, moderator, negotiator, and lobbyist.

John is a member of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations. He grew up in the Parksville area, and has a BA in Global Studies from Vancouver Island University.
